My guideposts are discipline, efficiency, and sustainability - and
I start each body of work by listening.
HOW I BUILD
At their core, my roles are about growth. I have a keen understanding of how systems, processes and people work together to gain operational efficiencies and create sustainable operating models.
Improved productivity and quality of work combined with reduced stress on the humans performing the work increases morale and innovation and creates a stronger sense of belonging. This is what organizational culture is made of and how to build it to last.
A long-standing cornerstone of my success is in understanding the unique qualities of each team member and determining how those who are different can work together productively. Knowing when to guide and when to let things flow creates an environment of inclusion and collaboration where all voices are heard and contributions acknowledged.
After 15 years of corporate achievements with companies including Quaker Oats and Visa, I struck out on my own, building a multimillion-dollar consultancy. Selling that company at the end of 2019, I entered the social change and impact arena with philanthropic and investment organizations focused on gender and race equity, education, a healthy democracy and the environment.
In addition to executive positions, I have led 200+ strategy engagements for Fortune 500 and mid-cap firms, large nonprofits and educational institutions.
“Sheila is a remarkable leader and expert strategist. A remarkable leader because she inspires others to attain their highest form of self, personally and professionally. And, an expert strategist and visionary because she understands and articulates the complexities and context that lead to the present moment as well as what is required to propel forward.”

“Sheila is the reason I was able to switch to a full-time career in philanthropy. Switching careers is difficult and it takes a leader and visionary to recognize and reward transferable skills. Sheila is that leader. She looks beyond what has always been and envisions what the future could look like. Then she finds the right talent and resources to make it happen. Plus, she truly cares.”
