Achille Massoma, Founder of Akoma Coffee

I met Achille several year’s ago when Akoma Coffee was a thought in his mind. As I’ve gotten to know him over the years, I find him to be a driven and thoughtful entrepreneur who is bridging economic growth on 2 continents.

Based in the Bay Area of northern California, Akoma Coffee specializes in the wholesale distribution of specialty coffee - green beans and roasted coffee - from Cameroon. Through their initiative via Menycore, and relationships with 80 micro-farmers in Cameroon, they have access to more than 1500 metric tons of coffee beans per year. In return, their team works with micro-farmers to ensure that the fruits of their labor allow them and their children to live a dignified life.

They do this by building strong partnerships with local farmers, paying a fair price for the coffee, developing entrepreneurship and financial planning training and other mechanism of support. Their final objective is to correct the imbalance within this economic sector while ensuring high ROI.

For roasters, large buyers of coffee beans and coffee enthusiasts who prefer to roast their own beans, as well as conscious consumers, Akoma offers an opportunity to engage deeply with the art of coffee roasting. Their coffee beans provide a foundation for a customizable roasting experience.

With one dream realized, I’m awaiting what’s next for Achille and his team. Learn more about Akoma Coffee at the sites below.
