If You’re Looking, Look Differently This Time

No matter the circumstances, looking for your next job brings a whole lot of emotions to the surface making it hard to pause long enough to do real soul searching about what you are really looking for.

Take some time to check your resume for skills accuracy and accomplishment reporting. And then take a look into your heart and really think about what matters most to you in your work.

Don't stop at the easy answers. Really challenge yourself by asking the five "whys" to get beyond the obvious to discover the things that make you happy to get up in the morning and get busy.

Work takes up a lot of our waking hours. Heck, sometimes we struggle with it in our sleep! Given that, I'm thinking that you should enjoy what you're doing!

If you are looking, look differently this time. After all, you're looking for YOUR job, not any job. You just might find yourself happier the next time your alarm goes off!

Roy T. Bennett, author of The Light in the Heart said it best, "Pursue what catches your heart, not what catches your eye."
