Priorities?
It’s a new year and time for a new thought! Try this one: priority is not meant to be plural.
A few weeks ago I spoke with my friend Amb. (ret.) Susan D. Page about work and life and how so many things become priorities leaving no time for activities that truly feed our spirit and renew our energy. That’s when she shared that she once heard these words from her coach: priority is not meant to be plural.
Think about that. And as your year gets underway, don’t get overwhelmed by what others say are your “priorities”. Ask which is truly the most important to complete and let that inform your time and effort. That doesn’t mean that everything else is unimportant. It simply means that on that day, and in that moment, you have ONE thing that is hot, needs accelerating and/or requires your focused attention. Unless you’re working on life-saving emergencies emergecy, calm down.
Thank you, Susan. Really. And thank your coach.
